Terms, cookies and privacy

Three short documents, written to be read. If something here is unclear, write to us and we will fix the wording.

Privacy policy

This describes what Duora collects, why, and for how long. It is written in plain language on purpose.

What we collect

Special category data

Sexual orientation is special category data under Article 9 GDPR. It is optional, it is stored only if you give explicit consent, and showing it on your profile is a separate choice. You can withdraw it at any time from your profile page, and withdrawing also erases the consent record.

Your location

We never store your exact position. We store the centre of the city you pick, moved by a random offset of about a kilometre and a half, calculated once at save time. The offset is not recalculated on each request, because averaging repeated readings would reveal the real point.

Photo checks

Every photo you upload, including in chat, is reprocessed by us, which erases the hidden data your camera wrote into it, including where it was taken. The safety check also happens on our servers: your photos are never sent to anyone else.

Who else sees your data

Other members see your public profile and what you write to them. Beyond that, we do not sell your data. Stripe handles payments. The email provider we use sends service mail (verification, password resets, and notices you can turn off in your profile). If you sign in with Google, Google confirms it is you. These providers process data on our instructions, for those jobs and nothing else.

Your rights

  • Ask for a copy of your data
  • Correct anything that is wrong
  • Delete your account and everything in it
  • Withdraw a consent you gave
  • Object to a processing, or ask us to restrict it

Write to info@duora.gg and we will answer within 30 days. You can also complain to the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

Under 18

Duora is only for people who are at least 18. Age is checked when you sign up, from the date of birth you enter: it is not a document check, and we do not repeat it every time you sign in. If you believe a minor has an account, write to us and we will act on it.
